Work in Progress and soon a 300 follower giveaway!

Here is my next work in progress, Vogue 8333. It is one of the Claire Shaffer Custom Couture patterns. I really liked the style, and I hoped that it would be well-drafted when I bought it. I of course am not doing the couture version, unless someone has scheduled me for a patience transfusion! My fabric is a red ponteroma knit which has been very easy to work with.
 The cat has been re-capitated.
My next project is a bathrobe for Andrew from a vintage men's pattern I have had for at least a year. I'll drag him to the Jo-Ann on Saturday to choose his fabric.
While at the Jo-Ann, I decided I really like this dot fabric (with a 50% off coupon, of course!) but I didn't realize there were two! I'm leaning towards the grey, what do you think?
I finally framed my last garage sale print in its Ikea frame. The all look so nice framed, I can't believe each print was only $5. I'm so glad Stephanie made us randomly go to garage sales that day.
Also, I have a lot of patterns I want to give away when I get to 300 followers. That will be pretty soon! I am so pleased to have any followers and anyone who comments! It is so nice to know people (even online) who also like to sew and appreciate the details!

Pictures of the jacket to come this weekend!

  1. Oh! Love the jacket pattern!

p.s. I had no idea the cat was so big! That makes it even funnier that T-Rex bit the head off--it's almost his size!!

  3. I can't believe you are almost at 300 followers, that is very impressive. I really like your blog and seeing what you are working on, etc! I love the poster print, which room will it be in? Did you receive your "box", and what do you think?

  4. "Re-capitated" - too funny! I've been successfully avoiding JoAnns for awhile now, but I had to go twice this week for work! I almost bought so many things, but I really want some of that Plaiditude fabric. I like the fabric on the left better!

  5. What is the color scheme of the room youll use the dot pattern? I always lean toward browns, but you shouldn't trust me!

  6. Lisette- I love the plaiditude stuff too, minus the name!
Steph- It's the ugly bathroom, so I was hoping to avoid being even more beigey- like the walls and all the tiles...

  8. You're hilarious. I've immensly enjoyed the stories about the cat pillow, and laughed so hard at the decapitation!
