On Saturday, we went off into northern Illinois and went apple picking and selected our own pumpkins. First we went to get some apples...
Andrew could reach the apples at the very top that everyone else couldn't reach.I am always making such evil faces.
It was a very nice day out, sunny and maybe 60 out.
Then we went to pumpkin patch because I was determined to choose my own pumpkin. There were many choices. So hard to decide.
Andrew got a normal one and I got a very small one and a very huge one.
Baby on board! My 45 lb monster (about 15 bucks) needed to be safely secured!
So now we will be making a lot of apple-related food as well as zucchini, since they had enormous ones for a dollar. One is enough to make sure that every dinner this week has zucchini in it. Hahaha. It was a fun adventure!
Nothing says autumn like pumpkins and apples! It sounds like a lot of fun. Zucchini bread might be a good way to use some of the squash?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun day! I've never gone apple picking, unless you mean crab apples. Normal apples don't do well here in Manitoba. :) Enjoy your fall-y hand-picked foods!
