Wedding Dress pattern drafting- Please help!

I am going to try to make McCall 7505 as my first wedding dress mock up. Either it will be beautiful and I love it, or it will be unflattering and hideous and then I can move on to making the basketweave dress.

I do need some help however!

First, go the wiki and look at the actual pattern. There are none for sale anywhere on the interwebz, nor are there pictures of the back of the pattern or the shape of the pieces.

I think the bodice is fairly clear and I am going to start on it first. My only question for the bodice is should it have princess seams or darts on the front? It looks like the bride's dress has princess seams, but the bridesmaid's dress has bust and waist darts. Probably princess seams would look better. I am making the bridesmaid dress, though. What do you think?
The skirt has me waaaaaayyyyyy confused. I have no freakin clue what those two pieces should look like. What shape is the bottom skirt piece? Where are the seams? It makes no SENSE!
So, if you have any thoughts please feel free to share. I need help!

Ladies, help me out!

This my "lucky interview jacket." I am finishing up my cover letter today and completing all of my applications and submitting them tomorrow. Then I will be in Chicago from the 20-24th looking for an apartment and hopefully doing some interviews, cross your fingers. Back to the jacket. I wore it on my interview to get the job I have now, and it was expensive and fits like a dream... thanks Banana Republic!
Now, I plan on making this dress to go with it, probably the one on the right if the collar looks nice.
I guess my real question is what color should it be? I don't want to look too Easter-y, so no pastels. What about a neutral? Navy blue? Beige? Brown? Black?

What's a good serious job candidate color dress. Help, please!!!

Help me with this! (Garage sale loot)

So we went to a couple estate sales and I bought this sewing machine for $5. The lady swore it worked. It does, sorta, not really.... It's a Necchi Bu Mira, a kind of light green color.
It sits in its own table and weight like 500 lbs. Andrew did all the heavy lifting, and we did not destroy the inside of his car. If it wasn't so hot, we could take the Oldsmobile, it is gigantic inside and I have already ripped up the roof felt moving around my bike, so no worries!
I cleaned off the outside which was very grimy. But then we couldn't get it to work. So Andrew took off all the plates, and the motor and we poked around inside. Then, he looked underneath and realized the knee pedal was not plugged in. Oops!

So he put the motor back on and we plugged it in and the belt moves, weakly, as long as the needle is disengaged. It groans and can't move the needle the rest of the time. I'm going to go buy some oil at Jo-Ann and see how the oiling will help.

Help me:
Beyond oiling it, it is having trouble moving the needle up, the rest of the movement is easy. Any thoughts on what inside would do this? It does have a manual, luckily.

Afternoon update:
I have oiled it (prob too much, they were squirts more than drops) and it will stitch. Well, I haven't tried thread yet, but it moves. It seems like either the plastic belt is too loose, or the motor is giving up...
