Good news!

The realtor finally called back and we got the apartment!!! Yay, I am really excited. Andrew is signing the lease on the 6th, and we are driving up a moving truck the weekend of the 8th!! Moving to Chicago finally feels real!
Uno, the one eyed cat, and his owner have moved. Snickers (above) was recently spayed by someone. She is always hanging around for cat food and petting. I hope she gets fed after we leave! The same for Blacky-Whitey, a real feral cat that likes to eat the food I put out, but has never once let me get close to it.

I have been packing more boxes, as well as cleaning up the Oldsmobile to sell it. It makes me sad, because I love my car, but having two cars and living in the city makes no sense. I posted an ad on craigslist, and I have gotten some calls and a few people to come and look at it.
I received some lovely emails from either incredibly stupid or semi-illiterate people.

OH craigslist! You can be so awesome and helpful, yet there are some drawbacks. In human form. :)

Wish me luck with the car sale. I am trying to get all my errands done, so that when I sell the car I don't need to ride my bike anywhere in the heat.

Yay! The Chicago phase of my life begins shortly!

An improved automobile

I finally remembered to take before and after pictures of a project!

My car is 14 years old, and has spent many years in the sun, so there are some giant spots where the paint is giving up.
You can see where I covered up the spots a year or two ago.
This is the panel that started peeling off after a trip to the car wash. Andrew did all the painting, since he thinks I am incompetent at painting with spray paint. All because at an old rental the dog had scratched the paint off of part of a door, so I spray painted it white again, but I got some on the white carpet because I didn't put down any paper. This was literally 3 years ago, but he won't ever forget!!!
Ta da! No more yellow!
All shiny and nice!
Here's my dress I'm working on. It needs buttons down the front and a hem, but I did most of it yesterday. Now to go buy more fabric!

A vintage, yet modern car

I saw one of these on my drive to work the other day, and I am obsessed. I followed it for awhile trying to figure out what kind of car it was. You can see more pictures at the Dodge website, here. I do love most things that are vintage and that includes cars.

I have wanted a Volkswagen Karmann Ghia since I was about ten or so. I love old 50's cars with fins. This car is awesome. It looks like a vintage muscle car, but with a modern spin to it.

Plus, then you get all the modern things like power steering, and power windows and locks, and most importantly A/C! (Since it's Louisiana....)
So, if you win the Powerball this Saturday, think of me! ;) It's "only" $24,000!

P.S. Now that is not to say my 1996 Oldsmobile 88 is not a sexy beast, it is! Please don't break Oldsmobile, I am too poor to buy a new car!!! xoxoxoox, Molly
