I was having a terrible time, because the thread kept snapping and I could not figure out why. Was it the ruffler? no. Was it the bobbin and shuttle? No. Was it the tension? No. Was it the needle point? No.
I am an idiot? Yes. Do you see where this is going?
You see, I put the needle in backwards! I was convinced that the flat side had to face right. Finally, after hours of torment and frustration, I looked at the diagram on page ten.
Oh, to the left.
Duh.
Anyways, the tablecloths are done, and the ruffler is a great attachment when operator error isn't bringing me down!
Please tell me other people do dumb stuff like this, and I'm not the ONLY one!! :)
I loved this post just from the title. We all do stuff like this. Bonk to the side of the head. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're not the only one! I always do dumb stuff like this, and I HATE the way it wastes my time and energy... Oh well...
ReplyDeleteI spent hours trying to figure out why my thread was bunching up on the underside of the fabric the other day. Turns out I didn't have the machine properly threaded! hahahaha! DOH!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteI can relate, some of the things I have done have made me blush when I figured it out and there was no one there but me!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, uh, well....I couldn't figure out why the silly machine wasn't stitching...I had just refilled the bobbin and rethreaded the silly thing but, oh yeah....the needle wasn't threaded!!
