I somehow left an ENTIRE panel out of the skirt! No idea how that happened, how I sewed it up without noticing, how I wore it for a year without noticing or how I fluked it fitting me without the extra panel.
Too weird, too funny!
If I'm lucky enough to be chosen, I like the look of Simplicity 4087 and Butterick 7295Crimson Gardeniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10838792053071210668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2624632908706778151.post-52424228980502574862011-11-17T11:31:03.212-06:002011-11-17T11:31:03.212-06:00ooooh, who WOULDN'T want these treat!?!?!

I'll pick this 50's dress :
http://amelienomori.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/50s-dress-photos/
First, because I love it and I love the fabric it's made of. Then, because this project involved a lot of firsts for me: first 50's dress, first vintage pattern, first lapped zipper, first darts, first invisible hem... So I guess I learned a lot while making it. I really tried to do my best on it.

My favorites patterns from your selection are Simplicity 8805 and Simplicity 4087. That's so cool!

It really would be difficult to say which of the items I've sewn over the years I've loved the most or learned the most from, but I think I'd have to say my wedding dress. I love the dress and how it turned out, but mostly the thoughts of making it are all wrapped up in the feelings/ happenings surrounding our wedding. I think the item I've sewn that I love the most ... that would have to be my Doodles dress. I'd never worked with fabric paint before, and I completely freehanded the whole front of the bodice. I ended up loving the way it looked and the dress just flowed. Definitely one of my favorites, and I'm ready for spring so I can wear it again :) Thanks Molly! megan.grandstaff@gmail.comMeg the Grandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05505371880343451606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2624632908706778151.post-31262506468411840192011-11-16T08:37:32.887-06:002011-11-16T08:37:32.887-06:00Hey Molly! But I read sewing blogs and fantasize about projects all the time to keep me sane with grad school and work. I made a skirt a few months ago that has pockets, which was a first and a take on this pattern from Growing Home: http://www.mygrowinghome.com/2011/05/elastic-waist-flirt-skirt-inspired-by.html. I also made two versions of this Grainline tank top--http://grainlinestudio.com/products-page/tops/tinypockettank/--which was my first foray into tops. I have big plans to sew a ton once this semester ends. I have several skirts that I made a while ago that are now too long and too big that I'll be altering, and I have a few thrift store finds that I'll make wearable. It would be great to have an actual project to start from scratch, and McCall's 2015 would be a good stretch for me since I've never made anything with buttons. Even if I don't win the pattern, I live in Chicago, so we should get together for coffee or something sometime. emily dot e dot robinson at gmail.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07333359107733233986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2624632908706778151.post-35937180991963853492011-11-15T18:28:05.676-06:002011-11-15T18:28:05.676-06:00Yay!
